  Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trek  (NTT-AT-003) | ITINERARY

Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trek: A moderate ( Plus) trek leading through terraced hillsides climbing ever higher to the villaged of Gohorepani and Poon Hill.After the vantage point of Poon Hill woth stunning views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South ,the route leaves habitation behind and leads through forest to aridge line at 4000m .The views are magnificant:Annpurna South ,which from this angle looks like a steeple towers overhead,while Dhaulagiri ,neighbouring Tuckche and the Nilgiris dominte the sky to the west.Very far below is the deep chasm of the Kali Gandaki Valley, and to the south the rolling foothills stretch all the way to India. A day trip from camp leads to the sacred Khaire Lakes.

Itinerary:

Day 01.

Depart London?Paris

Day 02.

Arrive Kathmandu, meet and transfer to Hotel. Dinner in Hotel.

Day 03.

Drive to Pokhara.

From Kathmandu we drive to Pokhara and O/N saty in Meera Hotel ***

Day 04.

Tirkhedhunga.(1540m 4 hours walk).

After breakfast depart from Meera Hotel at 0800 hours . Drive to Nayanpul enjoying the scenic Annapurna Panorama. Trek to Birthanti then climb up to Hile then to Tirkhe Dhunga.

Day 05.

Ghorepani. (2987m 6 hours walk).

Trek to Ulleri then to Banthanti for lunch then trek through the magnificent rhododendron forest. It takes about three hours.

Day 06.

Sonta.( 2210m - 5 hours walk).

Early morning climb up to Poon Hill for the sunrise view of Dhaulagiri ,Annapurna and Manaslu then have breakfast in the camp. Trek down to Chitre for lunch and enter the off the beaten trail to Sonta.

Day 07.

SISTIBUNG ( 2510m 5 hours walk).

From Sonta, after breakfast he begin our trek. We first go uphill, taking the right hand side trail. After four hours from the start we will be in a heavily forested area and at a stream here we will have lunch. After lunch we will trek uphill for two hours to Sistibung, our camp today. There is a small tea house, if you want beer, coke or chocolate you can buy them here. Impeyan and Tragopan pheasants are heard and seen around this place.

Day 08.

KHOPRA RIDGE ( 3450m 5 hours walk).

After breakfast we go to Khopra for a lunch camp. The view is incredible. After lunch one can rest or go on an excursion. Whatever you choose to do, one cannot escape the heavenly peace enshrouding this place.

Day 09.

KHAIRE ( 4500 m 5 hours walk).

On this day trekkers mayt be divided. those who are fit and would like to go high will pack and those who think they are unable to go ahead will stay behind. We will go gently uphill to High Camp at Khaire by the stream. The area is large. We can see the glacier from here.

Day 10.

EXPLORATION and return to Khopra.

From Khaire we go to Holi lake and climb to the look-out-point for Himalayan panorama, then descend to High Camp for lunch. After lunch we further descend down to Khopra Ridge and join the rest of the trekkers. Spending the night there.

Day 11.

DOBATO ( 3180m 5 hours walk ).

We will descend for ten minutes then go left. We will have to walk for 3 hours then have lunch at a goth. After 1 hour's climb we rest at a hill top then descend to Dobato for camp. Unforgettable mountain scenery.

Day 12.

GHANDRUNG ( 1940m 6 hours walk).

From Dobato we proceed downhill to have lunch either at Bhaisi Kharka or Tadapani. Then to Ghandrung for our camp. After a cup of tea we visit Gurung houses. Today we can have a hot water shower.

Day 13.

PANECHU ( 1910m 6 hours walk).

From Ghandrung we shall descend to the Modi Khola then climb to Landruk for lunch at Tolka. From Bhichuk we go uphill to Deurali. Then we camp at Austrian Camp, a large clearing, where the sun set and sun rise set the snowclad peaks of the Annapurnas ablaze with colour. A truly magnificent panoramic view, you will surely need reserved camera films for this camp site.

Day 14.

Pokhara then to Kathmandu.

We leave camp at about 8a.m. descend to Dhampus via the ridgeline and enter Dhampus. Further descend to Phedi and drive to Kathmandu

Day 15.

Free in Kathmandu.

Evening dinner party on invitation by Mrs. Gyanu at her house.

Day 16.

Fly back home.
